Students earn CDL and are ready for trucking careers.
Twenty-eight students graduated from the N.C. Truck Driver Training School at Johnston Community College during a ceremony Friday, June 26.
The N.C. Truck Driver Training School has been in operation since 1949 and is the oldest training school in the United States. Class 558 and 558-B celebrated with a lunch catered by Holt Lake Barbecue. Special guests for the event were Trooper Brandon Johnson of the North Carolina Highway Patrol and Terry White of Con-Way Freight and a N.C. Road Team member. Outstanding graduates were Thomas Matthew Cooper of Goldsboro, Bryan Christopher Brafford of Kenly, and Kent Brewer Barefoot of Dunn.
The following students earned their commercial driver's license and a JCC certificate of graduation after eight weeks of instruction. Kent Brewer Barefoot of Dunn; Bryan Christopher Brafford of Kenly; Tyrone Bragg of Raleigh; Keyon Rashad Bryant of Selma; Michael Jeremy Burns of Apex; Thomas Dale Clarke of Durham; Thomas Matthew Cooper of Goldsboro; Stefan Cortez Davis of Rocky Mount; Christopher Phillip Fox of Mebane; Torral George of Smithfield; Terrell Tyrome Jackson of Wilson; Randall Edward Jones of Mebane; Christopher John Kozik of Youngsville; William Harper Little of Clayton; Jermere Yohonn Marshall of Raleigh; Stephen Terrance Porter of Hope Mills; Feras Mohammed Sabri of Raleigh; Brandon Marcellus Ward of Clayton; and Dyshan Lamar Wells of New Bern.
