Mammography Seminar: Initial Training Course

This 30.5-hour program is the required Initial Training Seminar for Radiologic Technologists to perform Mammography.
Upon completion, students perform the requirements for ARRT certification with their employer. Clinical components required to apply for the ARRT certification exam in Mammography are at the student's discretion.

Please note: JCC does not assign clinical opportunities for students.

The course is approved through the American Society of Radiologic Technologists for CEU credits.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Driver’s License
2. Copy of Radiology Training certificate
3. Tuition of $120.00 with registration form
4. Purchase Mammography Book from JCC Bookstore, CE shelf

5. The student must be ARRT certified and provide a copy of their ARRT card.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

A well-integrated course designed to educate graduate radiographers and prepare ARRT Registered Radiographers for advanced ARRT Certification in Mammography and to meet MQSA Federal regulations.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

• To define the radiographer’s role in patient education and Mammography Assessment.
• Study the areas of Breast Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology.
• Learn and demonstrate breast positioning, image evaluation, and Alternate positioning procedures.
• Learn Mammographic Technique, Instrumentation, and Quality Assurance.
• Know and understand State/ACR/FDA regulations.

Dates: June 2, 3, 9, and 10, 2012

Time: 0800 a.m. - 1700 p.m.
*Ends at 1530 p.m. June 10th

Mammography Seminar class, Fall

Dates: November 2-3 and Nov. 9-10, 2012
Weekdays: S/S Classes
Time: 0800 a.m. - 1700 p.m.
(Ends at 1530 p.m. last day)

*Students must be present for entire course to receive credit.
