Information Systems Security

Information Systems Security covers a broad expanse of technology concepts. This curriculum provides individuals with the skills required to implement effective and comprehensive information security controls. Course work includes networking technologies, operating systems administration, information policy, intrusion detection, security administration, and industry best practices to protect data communications.

Program Outcomes:

• Effectively understand the workings of and the interactions of the various components of a network.
• Use appropriate computing tools and techniques to identify and solve information systems security compromises.
• Effectively interpret and convey technical knowledge both written and verbal to a variety of audiences.
• Identify and analyze information security risks within today's business environments.

Government data projects job prospects for IT professionals who specialize in cyber security to remain strong in the foreseeable future. Professionals with applicable work experience will have a competitive edge in this growing sector.
