Howell Woods is actively managed for the benefit of wildlife, educational opportunities, and low impact outdoor recreation. All money generated from merchandise sales is used for facility maintenance and improvements.
We serve and sell Counter Culture's Sanctuary brand organic shade grown coffee. Sanctuary coffees are harvested from carefully selected farms still growing coffee under a canopy of shade trees. Coffee grows more slowly in the shade, and like fine wines, the slower growth creates beans with a sweeter, more complex flavor. Shade coffee farms also protect the rapidly disappearing winter habitats for many of the species of migratory songbirds that brighten our summer days. We sell Organic Costa Rica, Organic Guatemala, and Fair Trade Organic Nicaragua. Each 12 oz. valve bag is $8, tax included. An all-natural CO2 process organic decaf is available by special order for $9 a bag.
