Early Winter Bird Stroll - December 5, 2009 - 9:00am-noon
FEE: $8 adults (PRE-PAID)
This is an excellent excuse to take a break from all the hectic Christmas shopping and get out and enjoy some early winter bird watching. Participants will learn about basic backyard bird identification, how to select the appropriate bird feeder(s), types of bird foods for purchase and how to provide natural foods from bird friendly landscaping. Squirrel and critter proofing your feeders will also be covered.
Our bird stroll will begin with watching the birds utilizing our feeders in front of the Learning Center. We have over 15 different styles of bird feeders that draw in a wide variety of birds. Later in the morning, a short walk on some of the nearby trails will provide sightings of new arrivals of wintering birds and late migrating birds. Binoculars and field guides will be available. Pre-registration is required and limited to 10 participants, ages 10 and above.
