The Learning Center is the perfect setting to host your retreat, meeting, conference, or workshop. Located at the entrance to Howell Woods, you can enjoy the many educational animal exhibits and peruse the natural resource reference library that contains more than 200 books.
Inside the Learning Center
The Learning Center has all of the necessary equipment for most educational and general meeting/retreat events. The classroom is equipped with:
- a ceiling mounted television, VCR, and DVD player,
- a wall mounted dry erase board, and
- a two-section lectern.
A slide projector, overhead projector, multimedia
projector, portable easel, and wireless high-speed Internet access are also available.
The classroom
comfortably seats 36 people conference style and over 50 people theater style.
Attached to the classroom is a full kitchen complete with a large capacity ice
machine and all appliances needed for cooking.
Outside the Learning Center
The large wrap around porch of the Learning Center is equipped with several picnic tables and benches for outside eating or for use as an excellent covered meeting space. A large picnic shelter is located on the front lawn of the Learning Center and there are two shaded picnic tables with grills, tiki torches, and a regulation horseshoe pit adjacent to the building.
Two cabins available for rent sleep four to five people. These environmentally friendly cabins have two separate bedrooms complete with restrooms and bunk beds and share a common kitchen.
