To review, evaluate, and make recommendations to the appropriate administrative officer concerning academic advising needs; to recognize needs of the students, faculty, and staff; to recommend changes in the advising system that will encourage retention, graduation, and/or transferring; and to coordinate advising and registration efforts with the faculty and staff.

To provide recommendations that reflect the needs, tastes, and desires of all college employees, students, and visitors in buildings and grounds appearances, ergonomics, cleanliness, and security; to review issues such as the naming of buildings, building utilization, numbering of rooms, traffic flow, seasonal decorations, health and safety concerns, new building location and design, fire codes and drills, emergency plans, and desirable and undesirable wildlife; to forward any issues concerning the Cleveland Center, Arboretum of Johnston Community College, or the Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center to respective Trustee advisory committees; and to coordinate recommendations with the Trustee Buildings and Grounds Committee.
Dean of Administration, Fiscal, and Personnel Services
The purpose of this committee is to gather information and to provide guidance to the College as a whole in the area of Business Continuity. These are plans required by the System Office, and they must be revisited each year. The membership will work within each Division to develop and update plans for the departments and the College so that JCC is prepared to handle and recover from emergency situations. This Committee is tasked with the development of an original Business Continuity Plan by March 2007 for inclusion in the upcoming planning cycle and with the updating of this plan on an annual basis.
Associate Dean for Institutional Effectiveness
To review, evaluate and make recommendations to the appropriate administrative officer and the Administrative Council concerning total program offerings of the institution (curriculum and non-curriculum) and on other academic matters including instructional methodology and resources, the campus bookstore, curriculum content, technology-based instruction, and continuing education.

Purpose:
To review, evaluate and make recommendations to the Curriculum Committee concerning the delivery, evaluation, support, and overall management of Technology-Based Instruction as an instructional delivery method for approved curriculum and continuing education offerings.

To review, evaluate, and make recommendations to the appropriate administrative officer and the Administrative Council concerning the delivery, evaluation, assurance or comparability, support, and overall management of technology-based instruction and distance learning offerings for approved curriculum and continuing education programs.
To research, plan, and coordinate college-wide actions and activities related to student enrollment and success at the college; to recommend recruitment and admission practices for students; to recommend registration practices, including orientation, counseling, and advising, consistent with student and college needs; to evaluate and recommend an overall program to support the retention of students, involving faculty and administration, including academic testing and developmental skills; to identify and review programs that provide financial services and scholarships to students; and to monitor graduation rates and career planning and placement opportunities. To assist the Services for Students with Disabilities(SSD)/Special Populations Office in ensuring that the College is in compliance with the intent and spirit of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to persons with disabilities; to assist with the recommendation of writing of policy and procedures for the SSD/Special Populations Office; to advise/assist in the provision of services and accommodations to persons with disabilities; to participate in the planning of in-service training on disability issues and programs for staff, faculty, and students.

To develop the annual Global Education Plan of Johnston Community College and to monitor the implementation of the plan; to review the College diversity plan annually and make recommendations for modification; to help insure delivery of programs and services that respond to the diversity within the college and community, while encouraging an appreciation of this diversity; and to provide a source of intellectual vitality to the college by supplementing its academic offerings with a broad range of high quality activities that blend the cultural aspects of traditional and non-traditional populations and the international environment, customs, issues, business, and industry.

Associate Dean of Institutional Effectiveness
To review and evaluate the LRC’s capabilities and needs to meet the requirements set by SACS and other accrediting agencies; to serve as a liaison between the faculty and library staff in recommending acquisitions and methods for integrating LRC programs with academic activities at the College to increase use by faculty, staff, and students; to advise the LRC Director on matters of general LRC policies; to encourage the involvement of the Johnston Community College’s faculty, students, and resources in local history projects and programs in cooperation with other interested community organizations and individuals; and to promote cultural and artistic programs and a forum for public issues.
Dean of Information Technology
To provide collaborative support to Johnston Community College, through its Institutional Advancement Division, in efforts to promote activities, programs and accomplishments of the College to the community and its various publics consistent with the College’s mission and the Division’s purpose: assist in identifying potential marketing opportunities; review and offer advice on institutional/operational policies and issues; assist in determining the impact and effectiveness of formal marketing and communications efforts; and serve as liaison to and from respective divisions and constituencies, facilitating shared communications on projects and activities of mutual interest and college-wide significance.

To assist in administrating and monitoring the Affirmative Action Plan; to review and recommend personnel policies and procedures which enhance employee performance; to assure employee problems or complaints are considered rapidly, fairly, and without fear of reprisal pursuant to the Grievance and Appeals Policy; to study and screen potential and/or new changes to existing employee benefits; to review and recommend changes in the JCC Personnel Manual in accordance with college policy; to coordinate the social activities of the employees; and to identify the types of recognition appropriate for the college family.
Dean of Administrative, Fiscal and Personnel Services
To assist the College Safety Officer in all areas of risk management such as hazardous waste, blood borne pathogens, industrial/public safety, vehicle safety, safety education, and accident prevention, etc. and to help ensure that the College provides permanent facilities which are accessible, functional, flexible, and appropriately maintained. To promote safety and health consciousness throughout the campus and help coordinate the College’s wellness program; to assist the College Safety Officer to conduct regular inspections of all facilities, equipment and operations, special inspections in response to specific complaints and prompt emergency inspections in imminent danger situations; to review the investigation of campus accidents and to make recommendations, including suggestions for corrective actions that promote campus safety and security and ensure a safe and healthy campus environment; to make recommendations on the development and administration of an ongoing program of safety, environmental health, and emergency procedures training; to assist the development and/or revision of College safety and health plans as warranted.

To assist in development and conduct of student activities that establishes meaningful interactions among students, faculty, and the administration. These activities shall include; but not be limited to; sports activities, social events, student clubs, and the SGA.

To hear matters brought before the committee, on appeal, regarding violations of the student code of conduct. To safeguard the rights and privileges afforded to all students; to ensure that fundamental principles of due process are recognized and followed; to provide an administrative process through which students can seek resolutions to complaints and grievances.
