Student Ambassadors

Fifteen student ambassadors are selected during the spring to represent the College and the College Foundation at various events.  Their responsibilities include assisting with the Donor Appreciation Dinner, the Neal Lancaster-Four Oaks Bank Charity Golf Classic, Distinguished Citizen Special Event, Dollars for Books, as well as student registration and orientation, graduation, tours, and other college-sponsored events.  The students are also required to complete one service hour each week in the Student Services Office and participate in a minimum of two public speaking engagements for the community and/or the College.

The Student Services and Foundation offices solicit the help of faculty and staff in notifying students of the availability of the ambassador positions and in encouraging students to apply for the honor.  A committee, appointed by the Student Services Office and the Executive Director of the Foundation, select the ambassadors by process of application and interview.

Students chosen as ambassadors serve during the academic year.  An orientation for new ambassadors is held during the summer.

Tuition and fees for the two semesters in which the ambassadors serve are paid from Foundation endowment scholarships.

Students selected to serve as Student Ambassadors are eligible for a second year of the scholarship and may reapply.
