Distance Learning
The Instructional Technology and Distance Education Center expands learning opportunities by using nontraditional delivery methods. Johnston Community College offers a variety of quality courses through various nontraditional delivery methods to meet the needs of a growing diverse population of learners with various learning needs and lifestyles. Each distance education course is equivalent to the on-campus sections of the same course in terms of objectives, contact, rigor, and transferability. Students may choose to take telecourses, Internet-based, hybrid, or interactive television (ITV) courses. Although the nontraditional methods of instruction offer a high degree of flexibility, they do require self-motivated and self-disciplined students.
We want your distance learning experience to be richly rewarding and full of excitement for you, in both the knowledge that you gain from this course and in the increased skills you gain by navigating electronic libraries, databases, and your virtual classroom.
We are also interested in improving continually the distance learning program and welcome your input. Please e-mail your suggestions to tslee@johnstoncc.edu or voice mail: 919-209-2177.
Thank you for your interest in the Distance Learning program here. If we can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
