Cultural Events at JCC
International Festival
Held annually during International Education Week, the seventh annual Johnston Community College International Festival will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in various locations on campus, including the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium lobby and the new library, both on the main campus of JCC.
Each year, this cultural festival includes country displays, entertainment, food, and fun. A variety of countries are represented by student clubs, classes, faculty and staff committees, as well as local vendors and international associations.
Last year’s festival included representation of China, Greece, Australia, Kenya, the USA, Egypt, Brazil and more. Entertainment included Mebanella, an Italian folk band; Braima Moiwai, a drummer and storyteller from Sierra Leone; the JCC Choir; Blue Moon Bellydance Company; and dancers from the Philippine American Association of North Carolina.
