Johnston County Works is a scholarship program specifically designed to provide short-term training leading to employment for those adversely affected by changes in the farming and tobacco industry.

If you are a past or present agriculture/tobacco farmer or quota holder or a family member that has been adversely affected by changes in the tobacco and agriculture industry or a past or present tobacco warehouse worker or family members you may be eligible for this scholarship opportunity. We can help get you in a training program and assist you in your search for a new career!
Johnston County Works can help with tuition/registration, books and some expenses
associated with training programs such as:
- Biotechnology
- Healthcare
- Manufacturing
- Human Services
- Computer Skills
And many other short term classes!
Funding for Johnston County Works is provided through a grant from the North Carolina
Tobacco Trust Fund.
