Computer Workshops
The following short-term computer courses will be held at the main campus in Smithfield or the Workforce Development Center from approx. 8:30-3:30 p.m. with a one hour lunch break. The registration fee is listed for each workshop and a possible book fee that will be available for purchase in the classroom. Some courses do not require a book fee with handouts provided. Preregistration is required!

Adv Word 2003 (12 hrs)
This ILT Series course builds on the skills taught in Word 2003: Intermediate. In this advanced course, students will learn how to perform a mail merge, create an index, track document changes, create macros, and customize menus and toolbars. Course activities also cover creating, modifying, and protecting forms, and working with large documents by creating a master document, table of contents, footnotes, and cross-references. The book comes with a companion CBT program.

This ILT Series course teaches students the fundamentals of using Word 2003. Students will learn how to create, open, format, save, and print a document. Course activities also cover basic editing techniques, selection techniques, how to copy and move text, and how to format characters and paragraphs. Students also learn how to create tables, add headers and footers, control page layout, and use the proofing tools. Finally, students save a Word document as an HTML file, insert hyperlinks, and send documents via e-mail.

Microsoft Excel 2003 with Pivot Tables
If you work with numbers, you need to know Excel. Discover how to quickly and efficiently set up fully formatted worksheets by creating formulas and functions to make your task work. Charts will also be introduced to emphasize your spreadsheets instead of just numbers. Following the Excel course, participants will learn to use Pivot Tables in Excel.
