What is a CNA?
Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) are important healthcare providers who
support patients with daily activities and supply routine care such as assessing
temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, administering medications,
and preparing surgery rooms.
Supervised by a registered nurse or license practical nurse, CNAs are commonly referred to
as the “eyes and ears” of the nurse because they spend more time observing and interacting with the patients.
This kind of training will give you insight into patient care that will prove invaluable as you pursue your
nursing or sonography degree.
Another common term for the CNA is Nurse Aide I.
