JCC Child Development Center staff is now leveled on the NC Early Care and Education Professional Scale by the North Carolina Institute for Child Development Professionals! Certification is an acknowledgement of an individual’s verified level of educational achievement, based on a standardized Scale from level 1 to level 13.
As of May 1, 2013 there are 493 Certified Early Educators in Johnston County.

  • Director (Amy Smith): Level 11 with an Administrator Endorsement level 3 & Professional Development Endorsement
  • Teacher (Sarah Ferguson): Level 11 with Adult Educator Endorsement
  • Teacher (Lisa Rivera): Level 10
  • Teacher (Heather Forster): Level 11

Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday:
7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Ages Served:
Children ages 2-5
1-year old and infant classrooms opening mid-2014!
*All families welcome-Faculty, Staff, Student and surrounding Community Members
Registration/Materials Fee: $40 - due annually
Tuition: Preschool (ages 3-5) $140/week
2-year old classroom $165/week

All Lead Teachers hold a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education/ related field or higher.

CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM (CACFP) MEDIA RELEASE

The Johnston Community College Child Development Center announces the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Agriculture funded Child and Adult Care Food Program. The same meals will be available at no separate charge to enrolled participants. The income guidelines for free and reduced price meals by family size are listed on the back of this sheet. Children who are TANF recipients or who are members of food stamp or FDPIR households or are Head Start participants, are automatically eligible to receive free meal benefits. Adult participants who are members of food stamp or FDPIR households or who are SSI or Medicaid participants are automatically eligible to receive free benefits.  In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
