Center for Academic Planning (CAP)

What is the CAP?

The Center for Academic Planning (CAP) is a place where students can receive information on college programs, degree requirements and academic policies and procedures. The Center functions as an information center and referral source for students, faculty, and staff. The Center will initially serve College Transfer students, Developmental Studies and Special Interest, but will have the potential to expand to accommodate other programs as the need arises.

The CAP will be staffed by a director who will help with the following: understanding and completing the advising process, interpreting assessment tests results, explaining College Academic policies, planning academic schedules and college transfers, organizing and scheduling faculty advisement in the center, and planning and organizing campus registration.

Employees of the CAP will work closely with students to help them accomplish their educational goals. In addition, the Center will house educational information, program degree requirements as well as resources and services that assist students in planning a course of study that is consistent with their goals.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.”
