How to Write a Business Plan (3 Hrs)

A strong business plan is a critical part of business success. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. This workshop covers the basics you need to put together a business plan that will assist you with start up and funding your business.

Notary Public (6 hrs)

This-six hour class is required for people who wish to apply through the NC Secretary of State’s Office to become commissioned. A minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 students will be accepted. Participants must present a valid picture ID prior to entering class. Attendees must have a GED or Diploma in order to obtain a Notary commission and be at least 18 years of age. Due to mandated course hour requirements, participants arriving 20 minutes late will not be permitted into the class. Please take notice of the location of the class.REQUIRED TEXTBOOK:
Notary Public Guidebook for North Carolina, Tenth Edition, 2006, ISBN 978-1-56011-480-2 is available at the JCC Bookstore. (Prepaid registration and book are required.)

Understanding Your Small Business’ IRS Tax Obligations (2 Hours)

Taxation for small businesses may be simple or complex, depending on the size and business structure. This seminar will discuss the specific tax liability for each type of business. Starting with sole proprietorship we will walk through the tax cycle for business and highlight the differences between the business entities. The presenter will focus on withholding, payroll taxes and the proper forms needed for income taxes. Be informed regarding your business’ tax obligation!
