Students inducted into National Vocational-Technical Honor Society at JCC May 15, 2002 The National Vocational-Technical Honor Society at Johnston Community College held its annual induction ceremony for new members on Monday, May 6, in the Wilson Lecture Hall on the Smithfield campus. The 2002 inductees and their areas of study are: Kimberly Lovvorn Deaver of Selma, cosmetology; Michael Scott Godwin of Kenly, heating and air conditioning; Wilson Earl Guyton of Smithfield, machining technology; David Richard Hawk of Pine Level, horticulture technology; Kelly Lynn Hildreth of Raleigh, horticulture technology; Jose E. Matos of Dunn, heating and air conditioning; Jenny Lockamy Swearingen of Garner, cosmetology; and Christopher John Wilder of Spring Hope, heating and air conditioning. The National Vocational-Technical Honor Society has been the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding achievement in workforce education since 1984. More than 1,500 schools and colleges throughout the United States and its territories are affiliated with NV-THS. Membership in the society is the highest scholastic honor awarded for excellence in workforce education in America. Advisers for the JCC chapter are Doug Brown and Milton Hudson, instructors in the Heating and Air Conditioning program. |
