Johnson Receives Award for
Volunteerism
January 30, 2002
The award recognizes recipients for outstanding volunteer service to the community. It is sponsored by the family of Earl Creech Jr., the Johnston County Tourism Authority and the Benson Area Chamber of Commerce. Johnson’s contributions to the community include involvement as a member of the Benson Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Mule Days Committee, and the Johnston County Education Foundation. He was an instrumental member of the Johnston County Thoroughfare Planning Commission, Economic Development and a past-president of the Benson Chamber. He also has served as mayor of the Town of Benson since 1995. |
