Johnston Community College Celebrates International Education Week November 25, 2002 Did you know collards and black-eyed peas are on the top 10 Heart Healthy Food List? This question and more were answered by students in the Nursing and Medical Assisting programs at Johnston Community College in celebration of International Education Week on November 21st. Students in the Nursing program presented a display of Health Care Practices Around the World while the Medical Assisting students provided a sampling of nutritious foods with their Nutrition Around the World exhibit. Foods of the Latino, European, Middle-Eastern, and Southern cultures were displayed for sampling. The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care to patients and groups of patients throughout the lifespan in a variety of settings. The Medical Assisting curriculum prepares individuals to be a multi-skilled health care professional qualified to perform administrative, clinical and laboratory procedures.
