Hunt Selected Johnston Community College’s 2002 Teacher of the Year

Stephanie Hunt, a member of the faculty at Johnston Community College, recently won JCC Teacher of the Year 2002 and was selected by her peers as nominee for the Excellence in Teaching Award 2002, an award promoted by the North Carolina Community College System. 

The Excellence in Teaching Award was based on her ability to lead and motivate students, quality instruction, innovative teaching style, leadership beyond the classroom on campus, and support of the mission of the college. Ms. Hunt will now enter a selection and interview process for finalists in the statewide Excellence in Teaching Award competition.

A full-time English instructor at JCC, she is advisor of the newly established Literary Guild at the college, serves on the JCC Student Advisory Council, the Executive Committee of the JCC Faculty Association, the North Carolina Community College Faculty Association, and the National Council for Teachers of English. Ms. Hunt resides in Pikeville and is the daughter of Linda Capps of Goldsboro and the late Theron Capps.
