Golf Professional Neal Lancaster Establishes The Ronald "Ron" Maxwell McCain Memorial Endowment at Johnston Community College

Neal Lancaster, PGA Golf Professional and resident of Smithfield, has established the Ronald "Ron" Maxwell McCain Memorial Endowment at Johnston Community College. Each year, Lancaster hosts the Neal Lancaster-Four Oaks Bank and Trust Charity Golf Classic and Auction to benefit the scholarship program at JCC. Lancaster earmarked the proceeds from this year’s auction to establish the McCain Memorial Endowment.

McCain moved to Smithfield in 1971 to manage Perry Brothers Tire Service, Inc. where he remained until his health made it no longer possible for him to work. Lancaster said, "Ron and I formed a friendship that was reminiscent of a father and son relationship." McCain assisted Lancaster financially and emotionally in the early days of Lancaster’s golf career.
