Johnston Community College and Cosmetology Student Win Trophy During Competition September 24, 2002
The competition was based on the student's ability to put together a total look for a formal evening. After George, and her model for the competition, decided on a dress, she performed her artistry with the young lady's hair, nails, and makeup. George is an advanced third semester cosmetology student. She hopes to become a "platform artist," one who uses a particular product during a hair industry show displaying the possibilities for the product. The Cosmetology curriculum at Johnston Community College provides training and practice in the skills required for the professional cosmetologist. JCC also offers training in Esthetics, teaching care of the skin as well as Manicuring and Nail Technology. For more information on any of these programs, call Terry Parnell at 209-2107.
