Nursing Instructor Honored with Scholarship Award

Vickie Baggett, R.N., MEd., nursing faculty member at Johnston Community College, is the 2002 recipient of the Robert Scott Award given by the Associate Degree Nursing Council

The award, which includes a $500 scholarship, recognizes excellence in associate degree nursing education.  Recipients must be pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in nursing or education.

Baggett is currently pursuing a doctorate in education at N.C. State University, where she also earned her M.S.N.  She completed her undergraduate B.S.N. at N.C. Central State University.

Baggett, a Garner resident, has been a full-time instructor at JCC since 1999.  She teaches courses in medical/surgical nursing, fundamentals of nursing, and nutrition.
