Austin Named Chair of JCC Board of Trustees

Lyn Austin of Clayton has been named chair of the Johnston Community College board of trustees.

Austin has served the college as a trustee for the past five years.  She was initially appointed to the board by former Gov. Jim Hunt in 1996 and was reappointed in 2000.  She takes the helm from Joan Johnson, who retired from the board in December.

The board held its first meeting of 2002 on Jan. 17.  Other members of the board are James H. Ellerbe, Craig Olive, Robert W. Bryant Jr., Vice Chair Kirk Edgerton, John Hobart, Douglas V. Oglesby, John R. Pratt, Loretta Woodard, Haywood A. Watson, Eldridge T. Westbook, John R. Windley, and JCC Student Government Association President Tracey Turner, ex-officio.
