Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder Kick Off Season for JCC's Paul A. Johnston Auditorium Concert Series September 23, 2002 Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder kicked off the Johnston Community College 2002-2003 Paul A. Johnston Auditorium On Stage Concert Series Saturday, September 21st. Skaggs and his bluegrass band, Kentucky Thunder, played to a sold-out crowd performing numbers such as the famous Bill Monroe classic "Uncle Penn."
