Neal Lancaster-Four Oaks Bank Charity Classic To Benefit Johnston Community College Foundation October 21, 2002 The 2002 Neal Lancaster-Four Oaks Bank and Trust Charity Golf Classic will be held November 7 - 8 at the Country Club of Johnston County. The tournament and auction will benefit the scholarship program at Johnston Community College.
Johnston Community College Foundation is the presenter for the events. Proceeds from the auction and the tournament will be used to increase scholarship endowments. The income from these endowments is used to finance tuition for students with a verified financial need. Autographed items from golfers on the PGA Tour and other memorabilia collected by Lancaster and fellow PGA Tour veteran Clarence Rose will be available for bidding at the Thursday night auction. The cost to attend the reception and auction is $20 for those not playing in the tournament or serving as event sponsors. Four Oaks Bank and Trust, the major corporate sponsor of the tournament for the last eight years, underwrites some of the costs for the events with a $10,000 sponsorship. Deacon Jones, Inc. joined the tournament in 2000 as a major sponsor. The local car dealership sponsors the "Mini-Tour." All players have the opportunity to putt for prizes up to $10,000 and win hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin prizes, including a new Buick. For more information or to reserve your tickets to the Thursday night auction, contact Judy Miller at 209-2115. |
