Region X Representative announced on October 29th that Johnston Community College came in 4th place in the East Division and was set to take on Guilford Technical College who finished 4th in the West Division. The winner receives a playoff birth. On November 2, 2010 the Jaguars traveled to Jamestown, NC to take on GTCC and came home with a (3-2) win over the Titans. The first set went the Titans way 16-25, but the Jaguars came back to take the next 2 sets: 25-22 & 25-16 respectively. The Jaguars couldn't hold on to a six point lead and dropped a close fourth set 24-26. Down 14-12 in the 5th set the Jaguars rallied back to tie 14-14. Both teams then exchanged service errors but due to critial plays by Amanda Thornton who generated a kill off of an overpass and an excellent service reception from Lindsey Dean which set up Morgan Warren for the game winning play the Jaguars were able to advance to the Region X playoffs hosted by Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, NC. On November 6, 2010 the Jaguars faced #1 seed Catawba Valley CC in the West Division. The Jaguars played well the first set and kept it close but feel short with a 23-25 lose. They went on to lose the next two sets 16-25 and 11-25. This concludes the 2010 Jaguar Volleyball Season.

The JCC Volleyball Team hosted the First Annual Jaguar Classic on Saturday, September 4th. It was set to be a four team tournament including the following schools: Wytheville Community College, Johnson & Wales-Charlotte, Virginia Western Community College and your Johnston CC Jaguars. However, due to injuries VWCC was unable to attend.
"We didn't want that to hold us back from competing so we decided to do a round robin, followed by single elimination so we would get plenty of play out of the day", Coach Sports.
JCC competed against JWU the first match. It was an exciting one, going to 5 games. Each match was fairly close until the Jaguars made a statement with a 15-3 win in the final set. JWU went on to beat WCC and the Jaguars also beat WCC. Therefore, the Championship match was set with a JCC & JWU rematch. It was another exciting match going to 5 sets. Both teams played well until the Jaguars dug a hole for themselves early in the fifth. They were down 5-10 before mounting an exceptional comeback and eventually winning the match by a mere 15-13 margin.
"We are so proud of them, not just because they won but because they didn't quit. They hung in there. They listened, they communicated well and they executed what we have been working so hard on. It was a great day!"
