Associate in Arts - Associate in Science

Minimum Admission Requirements of the University of North Carolina System must be met by transfer and non-transfer students alike. Minimum Admission Requirements consist of:

• 4 high school course units in English,
• 3 high school course units in mathematics,
• 3 high school course units in science, and
• 2 high school course units in social studies.

Students who did not complete the Minimum Admission Requirements in high school have two options:

1. Minimum Admission Requirements may be satisfied by successfully completing an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or Associate in Fine Arts degree program at Johnston Community College.
2. Minimum Admission Requirements may be satisfied by successfully completing six semester hours each in college transfer English, math, social and behavioral sciences, and natural sciences. CIS 110 and CIS 115 do not count as math credit for students transferring before completing an associate degree.
