| This six hour class is required for people wishing to apply through the NC Secretary of State’s Office to become commissioned. Books must be purchased prior to class from the college bookstore. A minimum of 8 and a maximum of 28 students will be accepted. Participants must present a valid picture id prior to entering class. Due to mandated course hour requirements, participants arriving 20 minutes late will NOT be permitted into class.

| This class is designed to instruct existing North Carolina notary publics in the new legislative procedure required to perform electronic notarial acts. In order to qualify for electronic notarization certification, students must hold a valid commission as a North Carolina notary public. Upon completion of the course, the student must pass an examination with a grade minimum of 80%. The student then will submit an application to the North Carolina Secretary of State’s office for their electronic notary commission. Student must provide picture ID, be able to speak, read, and write English to be admitted to class. (Pre registration is required.) | ||||

Topics covered include: gray coverage, removing unwanted tones, consultation tips as well as how to promote color services for every client. | Upon completion of Day 1, stylists will have an in-depth knowledge of hair color chemistry.
Topics that will be covered include: Over - highlighting, color build- up, how porosity affects hair color results, what’s in a bottle of hair color, how does H2O2 and alkali work in depositing hair color, the importance of the consultation, how to make recommendations, dealing with clients fears, handling unreasonable clients, hair color correction techniques, solving many hair color problems such as over-lightened hair, color build up, color removal problems, and when to say no. |

| Upon completion of Day 2, Stylists will have the practical application of color as designed by the ABCH national guidelines.
Stylists will be working on mannequins. The techniques are, weave /slice, highlight retouch, gray reduction, tone on tone, reverse highlight, high-low lighting and bleach retouch. The stylist will learn the proper mixing of product, the necessary tools needed to be best hair colorist they can be. The stylists will prepare the hair swatches for different effects and color development. The stylist will know how to maintain clients for a lifetime. |

| Upon completion of Day 3, Stylists will learn how to interact with clients in real life situations with a variety of hair color challenges.
Topics that will be covered are the Interactive Assessment, containing real life situations used to evaluate stylists ability to interact with clients. The proper way to answer questions in order to achieve the best results. Stylists will be given hair color challenges and will learn the best methods to correct and /or achieve the proper results for the individual clients. In this class the stylist will learn to adjust the unwanted undertones, corrective techniques for abused hair. All this is achieved by the understanding of hair color categories, porosity, and the past history the client. |

| This day is to consist of a written, a performance and interactive exam. This will make sure that the stylist understands how to utilize the areas that were covered on the past 3 days and will be able to put it into practice. This 3 way testing gives the stylist the knowledge of the exam that is offered by the American Board of Certified Haircolorists. The class and testing will also sharpen their skills and give an abundance of confidence to carry back to the salon to increase their hair color business. | ||||
