Microsoft Office Applications Mini Course

Grasp the most important features of using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This mini course will give you the tools you need to get started in all these applications.

MS Word and the Internet

This course is for beginners to word processing and will stress the basics of keyboarding, and the fundamentals of creating, editing, saving, and retrieving basic documents. Also covered will be advanced topics including using the Internet for information retrieval, email to send word documents, graphic insertions, tables,, merging data with documents and emphasizing the proper manner to store documents using the XP or Vista operating system.

PowerPoint Designer

This course delivers PowerPoint 2003 presentation training for screen and print that includes making your presentations become energetic using pictures, animation, and sound. This second part of this course includes Photoshop Elements for the graphic side of creating and manipulating graphics in your presentations.

The course above is considered one course for a one-time fee of $70. You only register and pay once and you must enter all classes to receive this certificate of completion. Books are available for use in the classroom or available for purchase in the bookstore if you choose. A certificate of completion will be granted for 140 hours upon completion of 80% attendance and exams

Publisher 2003

The essence of desktop publishing with Publisher is the merging of text and graphics to produce a professional looking document and saves time and money by being able to do it yourself. This course will get you started by teaching you how to design a publication, starting with an existing publication for print or a Design Set option. You will learn how to edit, insert and import clipart and other objects into your publication. This class is both fun and exciting and can please your boss!

Basic Word and Excel 2007

This course is divided into two courses. The course will be split after the first 10 days of Word and then begin the Excel session. MS Word will teach how to add, move through, and edit text, move words from one part of your document to another, work on two or more documents simultaneously, change the size or appearance of text, change margins and tab settings, automatically center, right align, justify, and indent text; run the integrated grammar and spelling checker; use the thesaurus, and save, retrieve, copy, organize, and print your documents. MS Excel will teach how to learn the secrets behind writing powerful mathematical formulas, using the function wizard to quickly and automatically calculate statistics, loan payments, future value, and more. You’ll also learn the best ways to sort and analyze data, create custom charts and graphs and more.

MS Excel 2007

If you work with numbers, you need to know Excel. Discover how to quickly and efficiently set up fully formatted worksheets by creating formulas and functions to make your task work. Charts will also be introduced to emphasize your spreadsheets instead of just numbers. You will learn that Excel is primarily used to manipulate numeric data, see how data can easily be updated, added, or deleted and any changes immediately propagate throughout the entire worksheet. See how calculations can vary from very simple to extremely complex and all done with ease. Excel is widely used by most businesses and often is a requirement of employment. This program is also useful in creating budgets, financial planning, and much more for personal or business use.
