On a beautiful late October day, Dr. David Johnson (JCC President), staff members, faculty and friends joined Dr. Donald Reichard, former JCC President, as he ceremonously planted a live oak in his honor. The tree, Quercus virginiana, was given to the Arboretum for this purpose from the JCC Staff Association and JCC Arboretum Advisory Board. The live oak takes center stage in the formal portion of the developing Southern Garden.
In addition, Dr. Reichard was presented with a specially designed "Cloval" - a combination of golf club and shovel - to honor his interest in golf and the shovel used for the tree planting.
